45th Annual Holiday Program

Holiday flyer featuring snowman

Once again, it's that time of year where our Youth Services staff get seasonally silly!  The Holiday Program is a long-standing tradition and a favorite program for staff and library families alike.  The tradition began in 1977 with a program offered by our very own Anna Del Paxton entitled "An Elf's Night Out."  Anna Del presented stories and songs in the children's room of the previous library on Cherry Street which now houses the Doris Harper-White Playhouse.  Over the years, the program has evolved to include all Youth Services staff, crafts and a visit from Santa. Youth Services Supervisor, Molly Sadler says, "I really love this program because it has become a tradition to purposely not rehearse.  It's an opportunity for the staff to get silly and creative.  Many aspects are improvised and it's not unusual for us to get a case of the giggles. It's a wonderful way to celebrate with our patrons."
