library logoThe Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library logo was chosen about 1970 by Barton Wright, curator of the Museum of Northern Arizona, from a design on a Hopi pot.

The design has been used since prehistoric times and contains several Hopi symbols. Dominant is the eagle, whose tail feathers form the base of the design. The bird's wing is at the top of the curve, and its head, with the beak pointing inward, completes the curve. The dark triangle below the eagle's head is the sky. The triangular symbol to the right of the wing symbolizes rain.
